Family Works Southland supports children, young people, and families through challenging times. From social work and counselling to parenting programmes and Buddy support, we help families in Invercargill, Te Anau, Manapouri, Gore, and Mataura.

Christmas can be a stressful time for some families. Each year, our Gift Giving Tree provides gifts for children involved in our programmes—and their siblings—who may need a little extra support.

With your generosity, we can make Christmas magical for them!

How to help:
Please donate unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people from birth to 16 years.

Gift ideas by age:

Babies (0–1 year): Soft toys, play mats/play gyms, sensory toys, bath toys, mobiles, rattles, clothing

Ages 1–5: Puzzles, books, bubbles, musical instruments, colouring books & pens, building blocks, soft toys, crafts, dress-ups

Ages 6–12: Lego, board/card games, colouring books & pens, sports equipment/outdoor games, crafts, drink bottles, Hot Wheels, sticker books, Minecraft, puzzles, books

Ages 13–16: Toiletries & skincare, makeup & nail polish, model cars, vouchers, jewellery, board games, clothing, perfumes/body sprays, oodies, sports equipment, art supplies
